A timeline is essential for ensuring that our Assessment Process is carried out on a timely basis. The following timeline is meant to ensure that all assessment data is collected, reviewed, and analyzed in a timely manner so that recommendations for change can be implemented quickly and efficiently. Ideally, changes would coincide with the next scheduled offering of appropriate courses and/or the following academic year.
NOTE: This timeline assumes no activity during the Summer term. Thus, references to the "previous semester" would be either the previous Fall (if currently in the Spring semester) or the previous Spring (if currently in the Fall semester).

Actions

Week 2
All faculty to have completed the Faculty Course Assessment Report (FCAR) component of the Course Assessment Instrument (CAI) for all of the previous semester's courses.
Week 4
The Undergraduate and Graduate Curriculum Committees (UCC and GCC, respectively) will:
- Finalize assessment of the previous semester's courses. Committee chairs will complete the Committee Course Assessment Report (CCAR) component of the CAI, including any actionable recommendations for change, for each course.
- Review results of surveys conducted during the previous semester and incorporate into assessment discussion and action plan, where necessary and appropriate (for most surveys, this will occur during the Fall since the major of the surveys are conducted during the Spring semester).
- Select courses from the current semester that will be reviewed and assessed. The UCC will select at least 4 courses, while the GCC will select at least 2 courses.
Week 6
Committees complete all documentation required for change actions.
- Actions requiring Departmental approval will be forwarded to the Chair of the Department to call for a Faculty vote, per Departmental Bylaws.
- Actions requiring external approval (College/University committees) should be submitted to appropriate committees by this date.
- The Department Assessment Coordinator will ensure that all approved changes are documented to the Assessment Change Log.
