Card Access Policy

Access to all of the Department's computer labs is controlled through a card access system using the UWG ID card. Labs available to students also require a PIN code in addition to the card swipe to gain access. All card access is granted at the discretion of the Department to eligible students.

Eligibility for Access

The Department provides two levels of access for CS labs:

  • For declared CS majors who are currently enrolled in CS 1302 and/or upper-division CS courses (including CS graduate students), 24/7 access to the CS Computing Lab (TLC 1-117) is provided. This includes 24/7 access to certain entrances to the TLC building.
  • For students currently enrolled in CS 1300, 1301, or 1302, access is available to the csX tutoring lab (TLC 1-115) during the hours of 8am - 8pm, Monday - Thursday and 8am - 12pm on Fridays.

In all cases, students are required to accept the terms of the Student Card Access Agreement prior to receiving access. In addition, the Department assigns access privileges on a semester basis, so all students must request access for each semester of enrollment.

Spring 2008 Card Access Request Procedure

  • All CS majors enrolled in CS 1302 or upper-division CS courses need to schedule an appointment with Ms. Alex Young beginning Wednesday, January 16 to request access. Appointments will not be accepted before January 16!
    • Students who had access to TLC 1117 from last semester (Fall 2007) will continue to have access using the same PIN code. You do not need to re-request access.
  • Students enrolled enrolled in CS 1300 and 1301 may request access through Ms. Jane Wood beginning on Wednesday, January 16 following the drop/add period. Access will not be granted before this date!

Problems with Card Access

Any issues or problems with the card access system should be reported to Ms. Alex Young, the Department's card access administrator, as soon as possible.
