CS Computing Lab

This is a general lab available to all undergraduate and graduate CS majors (see the card access policy for details on eligibility). Most coursework is done in this lab. In addition to the equipment listed, this lab is equipped with a SMART-board and projector for presentations, a whiteboard, center tables for studying and discussion, and a small collection of books and magazines for use while in the lab.

This lab is located on the first floor of the TLC in room 1-117 (straight down the hall from the vending machine area).

    • 3.2GHz Intel Pentium D Dual-Core
    • 2 GB RAM
    • 250 GB Hard Drive
    • 16X DVD+/-RW Combo Drive
    • ATI Radeon X600 256MB Graphics Card
    • Dell UltraSharp 19" LCD Display
    • Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to the campus network
    • Software image includes:
      • Microsoft Windows XP, Visual Studio .NET
      • Sun Java JDK, Eclipse IDE
      • MATLAB, Maple
      • Adobe PhotoShop, Flash, and DreamWeaver
      • Various free and open-source tools and applications
  • 1 HP LaserJet 5000N printer
  • 1 SMART board
  • 1 projector with PC and VCR connections
  • 1 couch
  • 1 fridge
  • 1 microwave

Current Hardware Configuration

This lab was last upgraded with new computers in August 2006 using funding provided by the UWG Student Technology Fee.
