Computing FacilitiesThe Department of Computer Science maintains a comprehensive laboratory environment to support teaching and learning in CS. Our labs are equipped with current technologies, and provide a multi-platform computing environment intended to give students the opportunity to learn and experiment with a wide variety of hardware and software tools commonly used in industry. Microsoft and UNIX-like platforms are supported and have a variety of software tools available. All CS majors have 24/7 access to the CS computing lab using their UWG ID cards. We have a total of 7 labs:
ServicesThe Department supports a number of computing services that complement the physical labs, many of which are available remotely via the Internet. The most important of these is a comprehensive "course web" system that is used by all CS major courses as a classroom supplement for posting course content as well as for asynchronous class communication and interaction. The course web also provides a publicly accessible archive of all CS major courses offered since the Fall 2003 semester. WirelessUWG's wireless network, ACCESSUWG, provides secure 802.11g (54Mbps) wireless network access from many areas on campus. All CS labs and office areas are covered by ACCESSUWG. Contact InformationPlease send questions, comments, or requests regarding the labs to the CS lab coordinator, Edwin Rudolph. |
