CS students to present research at Sigma Xi competition Department News for Year 2005 March 9 - On Thursday, March 10, two of our CS undergraduates will give a presentation at the Sigma Xi Student Research Paper Competition, and one of our CS graduate students will present a poster. Ben Browning, a CS undergrad, will give a presentation entitled "Solving the Intractable" at 1:30pm in room 205 of Callaway. His faculty advisor for this work is Dr. Anja Remshagen. Thomas Riley, a CS undergrad, will give a presentation entitled "Automatic Extraction of Proper Name Information from Newswire Text" at 3:45pm in room 205 of Callaway. His faculty advisor for this work is Dr. Muhammad Rahman?. Chairat Tanpisut, a CS grad student, will present a poster on "Knowledge Representation for a Domain Specific Knowledge Base" at 5:30pm in the Humanities building lobby. His advisor for this work is Dr. Muhammad Rahman?. Everyone is invited to attend these presentations. The Department congratulates Ben, Thomas, and Chairat on their excellent work! Thanks to Drs. Remshagen and Rahman for their dedication to supporting faculty-directed student research. |
