Biography and Research Interests

Dr. Abunawass' interests are in the areas of artificial intelligence, neural networks, and computer science education. Dr. Abunawass held a number of positions in industry as a senior software engineer with Control Data Corporation and as a senior consultant.

Dr. Abunawass obtained the B.S. in Computer Science and the B.S. in Mathematics ('83) from Hamline University & Moorhead State University, and the M.S. ('86) and Ph.D. ('90) degrees in Computer Science from North Dakota State University (Go Bisons!).

Dr. Abunawass enjoys spending time with his family, Ineke & James, and playing with his cats (whenever they feel like it), listening to the blues and Car Talk, travel and culture, and endlessly searching for the meaning of a Chair's life!
