B.S. in CS: Program Goals and Outcomes

Program Goals

Program Goals are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program prepares graduates to achieve.

PG-01Provide students with a core body of knowledge in computer science, with advanced topics that provide breadth of knowledge, build on the core, and expose students to current and emerging technologies and trends in computing and information technology.
PG-02Prepare students for successful careers in computing and information technology.
PG-03Foster students' appreciation of the need for professional development, life-long learning, and citizenship.
PG-04Provide students with a foundation of knowledge and skills reflecting UWG's general education goals & values.

Program Outcomes

Program Outcomes are narrower, measurable statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. Program outcomes relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviors that students acquire through their matriculation through the program.

Each program outcome (PO) is assessed by one or more required courses. The Program Outcomes and Required Courses Matrix details the relationship between program outcomes and the required courses for the program.

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of West Georgia will be able to:
