Recommended Course Schedule for New CS Majors

The following sequence of courses provide recommended schedules that cover all courses required for the B.S. in Computer Science. These schedules have been prepared based upon the current Projected Course Rotation for CS courses and with the assumption that students are full-time, continuously enrolled during the Fall and Spring semesters for 4 years, and have no transfer credit upon entering UWG. It remains solely the responsibility of the student to adhere to the recommended schedules and program requirements as published in the undergraduate catalog.

Notes

  • One of the following lab science sequences must be taken for Core Area D.2:
    • BIOL 1107 and 1108 - Principles of Biology I & II
    • CHEM 1211K and 1212K - Principles of Chemistry I & II
    • PHYS 2211 and 2212 - Principles of Physics I & II
  • The "Lab Science elective" must be the first semester of one of the sequences NOT taken in Area D.2. So, if you took BIOL 1107 and 1108, then you would need to take either CHEM 1211 or PHYS 2211 as your lab science elective.
  • The MATH elective must be chosen from one of the following:
    • MATH 2853 - Elementary Linear Algebra
    • MATH 3303 - Transition to Advanced Math
    • MATH 4003 - Dynamical Systems
    • MATH 4103 - Operations Research
    • MATH 4153 - Applied Mathematical Modeling
  • These are new classes that will start in Fall 2010 and will not be in the catalog until Fall 2010.
